Since shortly after the Civil War, fruit growers in Citra packed their fruit in these "grove" baskets for shipment to northern markets on steamships. When The Orange Shop began shipping mail order gifts in 1936, we shipped the fruit in Grove Baskets, and we've continued to offer them every year since. Grove Baskets are a true original, and we have a warm place in our heart for these nostalgic gifts. Plus, the baskets are really handy
